Rabbi Bloominstiel:
Netlilas Yadayim
Daniel Bishop:
If you eat raw grapes, does that use the wine blessing or the fruit blessing?
Daniel Bishop:
ok
Basil Andrews:
Washing hands before meal is a normal hygienic practice. Children are taught to do this right from kindergarden to lessen the risk of infection and contamination. Hence washing is done b4 sitting down to eat and in my country there is a pitcher of water provided for hand washing b4 eating. not a religious command but a hygienic practice. Not following the Rabbinic instruction.
Charles Sisk:
The same way as when one arises on the morning?

Just curious when Isaiah says the Lord is not happy with those eating flesh of rats - abominable. Is it abominable to just Jews or abominable b4 Adonai. Hence is it alright for blessing to eat rat an abominable thing.

For the blessing over all other food and drink, "through Whose word all things came into being" - should that be in the past tense "came" or the present tense "come into being"?

Wine tasting (sipping, not necessarily drinking)? Hagafen because you are still enjoying it?
